Low Gross and 50/50 Winners:
Dorothea (1st), Glory (3rd), Sally (2nd)

Dorothea Sledge was the event captain for this event.  She set up a 50/50 opportunity, where for a donation of $20, 50% of the money collected went to the EWGA Foundation, and the remaining 50% was divided between the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place low gross winners. $320 was collected, so $160 will be sent to the EWGA Foundation.  Separate prizes were also given to those who placed the next best 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.  The winners in that order were:

For the 50/50 game:  Dorothea Sledge ($80), Sally Hagar ($40), and Glory Cadenhead ($40)

For the remaining players: Cathy Wright (Reidy Creek Play for 4), Judy Schons (GolfTec lesson), and Pat Lafser (GolfTec lesson)

EWGA cup and CalifOrnia Cup events

OUR 2014 COMPETITIVE TEAMS ARE SET!!!

The virtual competitive ladder process was a resounding success and had enabled us to field 3 fabulous teams!  The 16 players for the EWGA Cup will travel to Rancho Mirage on September 13 and 14th and play on the Dye Course at the Westin Mission Hills.  This is the Pacific Region Qualifier and if one or both of our teams win they will go to the finals on December 7 and 8 at Troon North in Scottsdale.

Marie Horn                                       Louise Tang

In addition to competition, the California Cup weekend has also been designed to include activities and golf for non-competitors, and even non-golfers.  Friends and/or family can come to Santa Clarita for the Friday night reception, Saturday and Sunday lunches and casual golf rounds.  There is fun for everyone.  See the Upcoming Events section of the website for the link to register for the events.  We would love to have a big cheering section and friends to celebrate with us.

All team members have already been busy practicing for the upcoming competitions.  August 9th was a terrific practice round at La Costa where we were able to some real match play experience against our sisters in Orange County.  We recently had match play practice at The Crossings and Camp Pendleton and Carlton Oaks (San Diego's only Pete Dye designed course), is coming up on Sept 7.

Wish us Luck!

Need an Update on Match Play rules?  The full set and "quick and dirty."

PACE OF PLAY PLEDGE

EWGA San Diego Chapter members are busy women.  Thus, pace of play at our golf events is important.  We ask you to join us in speeding our pace of play by making these simple commitments to pace of play:

1.  We will play "ready golf" unless it is an official Tournament.
2.  We will pick up on a hole when we've reached our maximum strokes (equitable stroke control).
3.  We will move quickly to our ball. When our balls are relatively close, we will drop off our golf cart partner and then go to our ball
4.  We will be prepared (have a provisional ball handy; bring extra clubs when walking to the ball; limit practice swings).

If you have other suggestions to add to the pledge, please share them with education@ewga-sd.org.
